Add parents

To add parents to a person you have to possibilities:

• You know that the parents are still in the database
• You know the parents are both not in the database

Both parents are not in the database

When you know that the parents are NOT already stored in the database, you can click on the symbol on the right below the frame of the unknown mother. You will then see the create person view. There you can enter either father or mother and save the person. After that, the currently created person is associated with an unknown partner and the previous selected person is a child of them. You then can change the unknown partner to a known one if you click on the edit symbol right of the partnership and click on "Change partner to known person".

If only one of the parents is stored, create the partner first before proceed.
When both parents are stored and associated to each other, it is possible to join the person to their parents. Therefore you can click on on the right below the frame of the unknown mother. Now the search view opens and above the search you will see the data of the current person in the information frame.

Here you can search for the parents. All results in the list contains both parents and their marriage data. A click on a result entry joins the person to that parents. After that the edit parents view appears. There you can decide whether the ancestry is verified, or if there are possible alternatives. If the data is marked as not verified, a "?" will appear in the tree and the detail view. A click on the button "save" finishes the join and shows the detail view – now with parents.

To remove or edit an existing join, click again on below the frame of the mother at the right side. Here you can delete the join with the button "delete".
