After the initial setup, some settings of the application can be configured. Some administrative tasks can also be carried out.

On the start page of the administration you will find the different task areas as individual buttons for selection.

System settings

The basic settings for operating the application can be found here. Here you can specify, for example, the URL under which your imprint can be found. If you do not want to use a link to the imprint (not recommended), leave this entry blank. Proceed accordingly using the link to the data protection declaration.

In the system settings, you can also specify whether login is always required to access the application, or whether data that may be displayed publicly available can be viewed by anyone without logging in.

For a fictitious family tree, it can be interesting to display all data publicly without authorization checks. This setting must not be used for a family tree with real people.

Administrative functions

Here you will find various functions with which individual calculations can be carried out again.

Manage database

During the initial setup, you have already configured access to the database. If you now configure a different database, the connection to the new database is established. No data will be transferred to the new database. If you wish, first export the data in the old database and then import the exported data into the new database after switching.

Adjust the number of database connections in the lower area if you are not satisfied with the previous settings. There are no generally valid values here. These depend on the number of simultaneous users as well as on the hardware available.

You can use this page to save the database to a file that you can re-import into a newly installed application.

Import database

Here you can save a previously created export back into the database.
Please note: All previously saved data in the database will be deleted!

Log creation

The log creation allows you to adjust the logging settings at runtime. This makes troubleshooting easier and reduces the scope of the log to the bare essentials. Only change something here if you know exactly what you are doing!
