The Web-Site Ancestrytree processes data of the users. The amount of user data and the type of processing will be documented in the following.

These data will be used for statistical purposes for optimizing of the operation of the site. If there is a suspicion of illegal misuse the logs may be analysed subsequently.

Personal data of the users

Personal data are all data which are suitable to identify a person or to trace back to this person. These are for example the name, the email address or a phone number. Also the visited web sites count to them.

Personal data will only be processed as permitted by law or the user has agreed to.

Cookies

Cookies are small files which are stored on the computer of the user. They are needed to process the web site and to identify the user. Most of the browsers have the opportunity to disable the usage of cookies in part of completely. Parts of the web site will not usable until cookies are accepted.

All data are stored on a server in germany. No data will be send to a third party or another web site.

Data transmission

The communication to this site is secured by encryption via https. So no one can listen your communication.

Ancestree data

The ancestry data are stored according to the german Law on Civil Status. Therefore only persons which died a long time ago can be seen by not authorized users (guests). Authorized users can see all their own data and all data for persons an other user has granted access to them. Also they can see all public viewable data. Pictures, descriptions and source informations are only visible for authorized users.
When will be persons public viewable?
Persons will be public viewable if the death or burial is more than 30 years ago. If they have no death or burial, the birth or christening must be 130 years ago. If no event is available for a person, the data of the descendants and the ancestors will be used to get a public date. For this a generation is calculated with 30 years. If no event is found to calculate a public date the person is not visible public.

Revocation, change and correction

Upon request, information regarding the saved personal data can be issued free of charge. Moreover, the users are entitled to the correction of incorrect data, and the blocking and deletion of their personal data, insofar as there is no legal obligation to retain such data.
